
The port that worked, until it didn't, until it did again
The Đà Nẵng office moved floors last year, and somewhere between the old plan and the new one, the ethernet labeling stopped meaning anything. Port 14 on the patch panel now goes to a desk that used to be port 3. Two runs behind the standing desks were crimped by whoever did the move on a deadline, and one of them worked fine for six weeks before deciding, at random, to stop carrying a link light. The actual problem, once he found it, was boring: a bent pin from a rushed crimp, working just well enough to pass a link test and just badly enough to drop packets under load. That's the part nobody tells you about flaky office networking. A dead cable is easy. A cable that's dying is the one that eats an afternoon, because "it's plugged in and the light is on" tells you almost nothing about whether the run underneath is any good. Not everyone, and honestly not most people who read this site. This is not a mesh router or a gadget for the desk. It's for:

What It Gets You
An actual answer for a bad cable
It tests cable performance up to 10GBASE-T and, more usefully for the Tuesday Mạnh had, tells you distance to fault, wire map, and can tone a cable so you know which physical wire you're holding. That's the difference between opening a ceiling void at a guess and opening it at the exact meter mark the tester gives you.
Diagnostics past the wall plate
Plug it into a live port and it does IPv4 and IPv6 ping, and pulls nearest-switch information straight off the network: IP address, device name, the port and VLAN you're actually landing on, and the data rates that port is advertising. For an office where the patch panel labels lie, that last part is the one that saves the most time. You stop trusting the sticker and start trusting the port.
PoE, checked properly
It's Ethernet Alliance-certified for PoE verification, meaning it identifies the PoE class (1 through 8), reads the power being offered, and runs a load test against what the connected switch can actually deliver. Useful before you mount a PoE camera or access point somewhere annoying to reach, rather than finding out afterward that the port can't feed it under load.
Wi-Fi, when the problem migrates upstairs

The Honest Version
I'll be straight about the data here: this listing sits at 4.7 stars, but off only a handful of ratings, not the thousands you'd get on a consumer gadget. There's no meaningful pool of customer reviews to quote, planted or otherwise, which is normal for a piece of professional test equipment that most Amazon shoppers will never click on. So take the star rating as a mild positive signal, not a verdict.
What I can say plainly: this is not an impulse buy. It's priced like enterprise IT equipment, because that's what it is, and if your entire network problem is "the wifi is bad in one corner," a mesh system solves that for a fraction of the outlay and none of the learning curve. This tool earns its keep when the question is "why," not "how do I get more coverage." If nobody on your team is regularly the person crawling ceiling voids or being handed a mystery patch panel, this is enterprise overkill sitting on a desk.
The other honest note: it's a diagnostic tool, not a fix. It will tell you the bent pin is at 41 meters. Somebody still has to climb the ladder.
The relabeled patch panel is still relabeled, for the record. Nobody has gotten around to fixing the stickers. But now there's a device that makes the stickers irrelevant, which might be the more honest solution anyway.
